    Hi,

I just bought a HDLink Pro Displayport and a cable that goes from male Displayport to female Mini-Displayport. Cables fit fine between the HDLink Pro Displayport and my Apple LED Cinema Display, but I get no signal coming out. Any ideas if there are only specific kind of cables/adapters from Displayport to Mini-Displayport that will carry the signal through?

    Thanks, Wolf

    UPDATE:

So I have now confirmed from multiple sources + various testing by me and the vendor that the Blackmagic Design HDLink Pro Displayport and the Apple LED 24″ Cinema Display are a non-working combo. No word yet if this is related to the adapter cable, the Apple LED cinema display or the Blackmagic box. Or if it’s going to get fixed.

This thread is old, but did you manage to get it to work? If not, which display did you end up using?

    No, it never worked.

I ended up using an AJA HDP2 + Atlona DVI to Mini Displayport converter.

I also noticed at NAB this year that Black Magic used the same 24″ LED Apple display in their exhibit, so I asked their rep how they wired it. HDLink Pro DVI via DVI to Mini Displayport converter, can’t recollect which brand DVI to Displayport converter they used.

So a bit finicky set-up, but once it works the image looks pretty good.
