HDLINK driver eliminating brightness control?
hello.
it seems that the installation of the HDLINK driver 2
wiped out the OSX brightness control of my mac’s main monitor (cinema display 23)is this true & why?
I like to darken mac monitor while doing color corrections for better concentration to video.

Hi Kurt,
The HDLink utility does not have any capability to alter the brightness controls on your computer monitor. I would suggest checking your Displays preferences and ensuring that the computer monitor is set to be the primary display as it should definitely have brightness controls. In the “Arrangement” tab of the Displays preferences, drag the menu bar to the top of the display which represents your primary display. This might solve your problem.

I found that disconnecting/reconnecting my Dr.Bott ADC-Extension cable solved the problem.
the problem just occured at the same moment I installed HDLINK driver but was in no way related to this installation.regards,

Hi Kurt,
Thank you for posting the answer to your problem and I’m glad you have managed to find the solution. If you are using that cable in conjunction with the HDLink, then it would be a good idea to be aware of the support note No Video Appears on my Apple Cinema HD Display (ADC) in case you encounter any problems.
