    hi.

This might not be a Final Cut Pro questions, but it has to do with Post Production and I figured this is where those people would look first. Hope we can figure something out.

here’s the mystery with the tapes we are using for our show.
they were shot 1080/24 or 1080/23.98.
when we play them back in any HDCAM deck that we own….JH3, S280 or
HDW2000, the deck reads it as 29.97 and plays both the video and audio
in double time and the audio does not show on tracks 1-4, only on the
    cue track.
if we change the deck setting on the JH3 or S280 to play out as 24,
the audio registers on 1-4 and plays in real time, but there is no
    video.
when we play the tape on the HDW2000 and change the deck setting to
23.98, the audio registers on 1-4 and plays in real time, but the
video is jumping all over the place, both horizontally and vertically.

we are not sure of the camera settings that were used….Either way we are wondering what is happening with the tapes and if there is any quick fix. Sorry again if this is the wrong place to post, but I didn’t know where else this problem would fall under. Thanks.

Is this when trying to capture or is this just playing through the deck to a monitor?
