So I am an audio post guy being asked to assist with picture layback for an independent feature I am supervising, as I have access to decks at my full time gig. The project is HD, 23.976. So, the question is, can the Sony HDCAM HDW-M2000 assemble edit (or insert, either way) picture while being locked to SD reference in 23.98 1080PsF, as opposed to Tri-level sync? I know it works for 29.97/59.94 1080i projects as editors at the facility do this all the time without tri-level sync.

I believe that you need Tri-sync to do anything but 59.94/29.97, which is what we use
(so I hope I am answering correctly ;))
