So we’ve got this new Panasonic deck in to capture DVCPRO tapes, and it’s not sending video out to FCP through the SDI OUT port, which is hooked to an AJA Card in the Mac.

So I wanted to go through the deck menus to see if I could find a reason, but the deck also refuses to send a video signal to the monitor through the Video Out port on the back, so I can’t see the deck menu.

Our usual way of setting it up works just fine with our other HD1200A, but this one is being picky.

I noticed that a little circle indicator is lit above the timecode on the LCD display. The manual says this is the “system format lamp” selected by Menu 15, but when I follow the manual to go to Menu 15 (more or less blindly without the monitor) it seems to be related to “adjusting the system phase of the VIDEO output signals” – whatever that is, it’s way beyond me.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks a billion 🙂
