HD Workflow & Kona2 Query

Offline / online always scares me with FCP’s Media Manager weakness. With cutting at DVCPro HD, that really doesn’t take up a whole lot of room, even with 30 – 40 hours of material.

[Nick] “2. We’ve run into a few issues with initial Upconvert tests with Archival material. Looks ok in SD, funky artifacts in HD. AJA says this is out of the ordinary and is expediting a new card. Anyone seen this before?”

All I see here is the lack of line doubling when bring SD up to HD. The interlacing “jaggies” become more pronounced, but other than that, I don’t see any artifacts or anything like that. For the most part, it’s quite clean, but a line doubler would certainly enhance it even further. The best upconvert I’ve seen yet is still the Terranex. You could always edit the entire thing and then take the selects to a shop for a Terranex upconvert.
