I have a Sony FX-1 camera and want to shoot a project in HD. What is the work flow to do this. I guess I can import the HD footage from the camera abut I need to know what preset to use when bringing it in. I also need to know about getting it put on Blue Ray for the customer. Thanks!!!!

Your camera shoots in the HDV format. There is already a lot of information on the cow about editing HDV and authoring blue ray disks. Try a little search if the forums and then post again if you have any more spicific questions.

There are no “technical solutions” to your “artistic problems”.

You want to get out of HDV for the edit. Chris Poisson has a tutorial here on the Cow about capturing to ProRes just using Firewire on an Intel Mac.

As for BluRay, there have been plenty of discussions here in this forum and the Cow about that. On the Mac your choices are Encore and Toast. I use DoStudio from NetBlender which only runs on Windows.
