    I’m trying to create an SD DVD-R from HD footage used in an HD sequence in FCP. It looks fantastic on my Apple display in FCP. I’m using Compressor to encode my sequence with the end result looking worse than SD DVD’s created from DV footage in DV sequences. Any insight into this issue is greatly appreciated.

    Try using this method:

    File/Export/Using Compressor It will take longer, but it’s the best of the processes to get to MPEG in Apple’s software.

    Then simply choose the preset for the MPEG file you need that matches the length of your program… I’ve found for very short programs, the CBR set at say 6-7 mbs works really well. No lower bit rates used than that on any of the program…
