Alright im in a big jam! and this will probably seem elementary to most of you. BUT I am working on a TV spot and this is the first time ive delt with True HD footage. The source footage is HD 1080i and it needs to eventually be mastered as digibeta 720×486 in the end. My question is.. im working in After Effects and I need to know what all my compositions need to be set at to achieve this. Also, what and if at all, does the footage need to changed to.. in other words what should i be working in?? 8 bit uncompressed?? Is there anything else I need to know??? this whole project has been a source of a whole lot of headache! Any help would be greatly appreciated!! thank you!!

    Hey, Jeff-

I can completely understand your panic mode right now, but I TOTALLY suggest searching the posts here at the COW AE forum. Just search “HD” to start and you’ll discover a wealth of knowledge and discussions about this very topic.

I’m guessing you probably haven’t gotten any responses yet because your question is really broad and there is not ONE right answer or workflow. For starters…Is your project going to be letterboxed, center-cut or anarmorphic for SD broadcast? So, (this is just my advice, so feel free to tell me to go fly a kite) search the posts, get a little more bgd under your belt and re-post with some more specific questions, and I’m sure the COW can help you out!

    Cheers,
    Jason
