    If I render my videos at HD 1080I, why does DVD-A only encodes to 720 X 480? So what is the purpose of rendering HD in Vegas if DVD-A is only going to burn to 720 X 480. Also, what is the difference between 1080/60i/50i, 1080/30p, 1080/24p?

    DVD A creates standard def DVDs. It does not currently offer authoring hi-def DVDs.

    [toneystone] “what is the difference between 1080/60i/50i, 1080/30p, 1080/24p?”

    60i = 60 interlaced fields per second (NTSC)
    50i = 50 interlaced fields per second (PAL)

    30p = 30 progressive frames per second

    24p – 24 progressive frames per second (same cadence as film)
