    Hi Guys…

Just running a HD Dual Link Pro through it’s paces.

I’m famliar with Prem Pro 1.5.1 and know that many times to facilitate some real time FX and transitions, you will have specific folders in the FX palette dedicated to transitions that work with specific hardware.

I don’t see that with the HDDL so I’m wondering if maybe it wasn’t installed?

I have found that I can do RT dissolves and Fades (or at least preview them based on my system’s config).

Are there any other types of FX or transitions that I should find lurking around somewhere?

    Thx…

    Hi Alex,

The current RT effects are for standard definition and hopefully we’ll be able to add high definition RT effects support in the future. We have RT effects in both DV and uncompressed timlines.

The DV-based real time effects in Premiere Pro 1.5 are built into the application itself, so when editing in this mode, RealTime Effects supported by the Adobe render engine are supported via the Blackmagic outputs.

The following dual-stream transitions are supported for uncompressed SD realtime playback in Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5; Cross dissolve, Additive dissolve and Dip-to-Black dissolve.

See Achieving realtime transitions with uncompressed clips for more information.

You can also perform hardware down conversion with the DeckLink HD Pro 4:4:4 card in Windows XP and you can find information about that in the support note Software and hardware down conversion with DeckLink cards.

    Hi Luke…

    Thanks for the reply.

So the RT Preview I’m getting in HD is the best I’ll get regardless of throughput config?

    ok.

Why then do you have the option to tun on/off the Abort playback on dropped frames for HD?

Based on what you said, it will drop frames every time. This seems odd…

Unless the dialog was designed in a general way for both SD and HD….

    Thanks…
