    Hello Everyone!

I have been looking to purchase some HD monitors for a while, but find that the bombardment of information is a little much to sift through…
I was wondering if anyone could offer me some suggestions as to what kind of HD monitor to buy for a PowerPC G5 Dual 2.5 Ghz with 2.5 GB of memory. Also, I am looking for a 20-24′ monitor and to stay in the $1500-$2000 range. Any help would be MUCH appreciated, as I am almost tearing my hair out!

    Thanks!
    Samantha

are you looking for a computer monitor, connected to your DVI port or a Video monitor connected to a not mentioned video card?

As in broadcast HD monitor? Look at Flanders Scientific or FSI. They have banners here on the Cow, Nick Griffin has done a review of them and I have written quite a bit about them in my blogs. We have one of their 1760W and 2 of their 2450W units in our shop. Best of all, they have a 30 day money back guarantee so if you don’t like it, you return it.

You’ll need a proper card or I/O box like an AJA Kona or AJA Io HD to feed it an HD signal.

Thanks so much for the response!

So, I have one system with an AJA Kona Card, so we are good there. The other two systems have no video card. Is it the best to go with a video card with a DVI output?

    Once again, thanks everyone!

No. SDI is preferred. Component is second.

if your looking for a bargain on a great sony monitor,
    look for the PVM series.

    a 20/L5 = 20″ crt.

great monitor usually at a great price!
