Let me see if I have understood well. I am aware now that I need 8gb of ram. As minimum request for processor I need just a Quad core? I think there’s no quad cores below 2gb.

My main concernt is the hard disk space I need. I am not sure if you told me about that. Do you know the size of 1 tiff frame at 10 bpc created from HD SR 1920×1080 4:4:4 footage?

Would it be enough 1 Tera Raid to work for effects ? is it necessary the Raid or they may work separately ?

Andrew….just make up a 10-bit RGB TIFF at 1920×1080 – see how big it is, multiply by the amount of frames you envisage = your answer.

As for AE /cores / RAM etc…I think you’ve got a bit muddled up.

2GB per core means you should have 2GB RAM available for each core to utilise them efficiently when previewing/rendering. To do this you will either need AE CS3 and/or Nucleo Pro.

GHz is the cores – the higher that is the fast your machine/AE will process your data. If you’re sat with a client working on HDCAM SR footage I’d recommend at least 8-cores and at least 16GB RAM, or you’ll be sat there twiddling your thumbs waiting for things to happen quite a bit. If it’s non-client attended and time isn’t as much of an issue, 4 cores / 8GB should be plenty.

If you have RAID-0 storage and keep your applications on one harddrive, your source footage on another and your renders to another that will speed up thoughput of data aswell..
