Why are you trying to capture ?

You need to drag the content folder from the P2 card to your local drive, then import everything from the video subfolder to premiere pro.

Thanks for the quick response…I thought that I should be able to drag the files to my Mac drive but the P2/Camera is not showing up when I plug it in. Is there some software that would make that possible? I am still confused about what my settings should be when I create a new project in Premiere Pro.

You need to hit the playback button on the back of the camera once (takes you to thumbnail mode), then hold it again for a few seconds. That will take the camera to transfer mode. I believe on a Mac, you would be using Firewire (unlike USB only on a PC)

Make sure that your camera transfer menu setting (9?) is set to Firewire as well.

Can you give me some advice about the Premiere Project settings for 720 30pn?

Select the DVCPro HD, 720 24p preset, then go to the custom settings and change the frame rate to 30p. That’s about it.

I’m actually having the same problem. I’m shooting in 720 24p/n but whenever I attempt the transfer Adobe says ” File format no supported. What the heck am I doing wrong, I’ve tried everything. Please help!!
