I am sure someone has solved this problem but I can not find it anywhere. I have a Sony HDR-XR520 which is able to record HD film. When I record some footage and upload it it uploads as .m2ts which is no problem with PP CS4. Although when I try and play it in the preview screen it lags. The sound plays normally but the video lags until I pause it then it catches up with the sound.

    I have:
    Win 7 x64
    3gb ram
    2.0Ghz core 2 duo
    512 video memory (Geforce 8600ms)

I closed all programs except cs4 and such, but I have no idea how to fix this.

I am no professional when it comes to this program or video formats either. But I’d like to learn and be able to edit HD footage.

    Thanks,
    Christian

    Two things,

Usually with HD you simply need to set the preview to “Draft Quality” instead of Highest Quality, that normally does the trick and it sill looks very clear since it’s HD.

If that doesn’t work, sometimes you just need to make any kind of adjustment effect/color to the clip(s) that would cause you to render it, after rendering they seem to play better, especially a non compressed HD file.

    Hope that works.
