    Hi all,
We have a DigiBeta deck installed today (DVW-M2000P)
Hooked up SDI out to in on BM card.
Hooked up control into Remote1 in on the deck

Captured some clips. They seem fine, do I therefore assume I do not need a blackburst attached to RefIn and RefVideo on the deck ?

Whats the best way to test audio offsets and tc offsets with the deck?

Using SDI in am capturing 10bit uncompressed. FCP scopes are showing above _White_ and safe color filter pulls it down.. is it possible to go illigal on sdi input ?

    many thanks

    P

Ok testing the Blackmagic Test bars in FCP.. the PAL 10bit ones appear to be illigal! :-/

I know the Decklink NTSC bars are illegal. May be the same with PAL. The NTSC bars are 100% color bars.

If Blackmagic wants to be taken seriously as a video interface company, it would behoove them to provide accurate SMPTE-type bars as a file. But they have been dodging the analog level mismatch issue for a few years now, so I have to wonder if there is a qualified video engineer on staff.

On the bright side, their cards have been working reliably for me.

Funny.. one tape I have shows the vectrascope spot on.

But 2 tapes.. one a Master a broadcast station made, and another from a reliable TK house both bars are outside the boxes in Vectorscope :-/ and the waveform shows yellow and the rest till green as above white.. way over!.. :-/

Have you checked termination for all your equipment?

nope.. not sure where to terminate to be honest.. not to techy on this stuff.

Bars were 100% on the masters so thats why its over I think..

    Where would I terminate?

    cheers

Look on the back of the deck. Though as I think of it, it only applies to analog video. SDI may need termination to insure signal quality, but it would not affect levels of the image.
    …maybe best to ignore me!
