HD Extreme card causing computer sleep problem.
I have brand new dual 3 GHz Mac Pro and installed Blackmagic HD Extreme card.
But the card is causing a problem, here is what it does.
When I put the computer to sleep, all is fine, but when I hit a keyboard key to wake it, the computer kicks into life and the fans start spinning, but the Apple display stays black.
I know it is the card as when I take it out the problem goes away. I’ve put card in, taken it out several times to confirm.
In System Prefs I’ve also disabled the Video Desktop setting, so it is on ‘disable after restart’, and restarted the computer.
Before anyone says I should not sleep my edit system, I do, it’s just how I work. It is a Blackmagic problem for causing my Mac not to work right so they should sort this issue out.
It is located in slot 3 simply because it is the only slot it fits in. I have 4 internal drives so slot 4 is out of the question or the cards heat-sink is forced into HD slot 4, which causes the card to bend. Slot 2 is out as I have the better ATI X1900 card, which is so thick it covers slot 2.
Anyone know how I can fix this, Blackmagic perhaps?

Hi,
Sleep support for the Mac Pro will be added in the DeckLink 5.7.1 drivers which are due out soon. Until then, set the Energy Saver settings not to sleep to avoid any wake from sleep issues.
I’m rather intrigued by your comment that you cannot fit the DeckLink HD Extreme card in to slot 4 as Apple provide loads of space above slot 4 and the heat sink on the card doesn’t come close to the four plug-in disk carriers which can hold hard disks. The following screenshot shows a big graphics card in slot 1 and then the empty slots 2, 3 and 4 above it with slot 4 at the top.
When the DeckLink HD Extreme is installed, there is over 2 inches of space between the DeckLink card and the plug-in disk carriers so I’m not sure why you are experiencing a problem fitting the card in slot 4. Can you take a photo to demonstrate the problem?Regards,

When is soon for driver? I only have a 14 day money back warrentee on this so can’t wait too long, can you give me a rough date?
You’ll have to trust me on the card. The card heatsink touches the HD drawers. That picture is deceptive and mine dosn’t have that kind of space.
Depending on when the new driver is out will determine if I can take a photo for you. If the driver is going to be an age the card goes back in the post today so I can get my money back hence I won’t be able to take picture.

Where did this picure come from Luke? mine dosn’t have anywhere near that room at the top? Is this a publicity pre-production shot from Apple? they could be different now.
Any date on that 5.7.1 update driver?
