HD editing lag
Hey All.
I recently got a HD camera that films in 1080 HD,
But when I came to edit the footage in sony Vegas 9, the lag on the preview was realy bad, reading about 3 FPS on the output screen.
Is there any way I can lower the quality on the preview so I can edit the footage more efficiantly?
I already have the preview window set to the lowest settings I know of.
Please Help As I would love to be able to use the Full HD Capability Of my camera

Preview setting “Draft, quarter” is the lowest quality setting but is worse looking that the low framerate setting it to “Preview,auto” in my opinion. If neither of these work for you your 3 options are using Cineform, making DV widescreen proxies to edit with and switch them back to the hd files before rendering, or getting a faster computer. What are your computer specs?

I am running a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 2.5GHz
3GB Ram
1GB videoWhat is this proxy thing you are talking about??

You can render all the HD clips in your project to DV widescreen which will edit very easy. Do all your editing with these DV files and when your done and ready to render, Go to your project media tab and right click on each DV file and replace them with their HD version of that clip, and then render.
