HD Cam Audio Tracks Problemo
so, another dilemma in the same day,
got 4 tracks of audio in my FCP timeline, audio/video settings telling me that all 4 tracks are going out to the deck through the Kona LHi.
The deck has all 4 tracks on while in record, but only 2 of the tracks are monitoring any signal.
This time I’m under the assumption its on the senders side (FCP/Kona) and not the recievers side (VTR)
I believe somewhere its doing a mix down to 2 stereo tracks, but cannot find a panel that shows it,
any help would be appreciated,

Is edit to tape working for you?
So to fix this problem-
1. Go to sequence settings in FCP, then the “audio outputs” tab. Make sure its set to 4.2. Go to your timeline where you have 4 tracks of audio. Right click next to the lock and make sure audio outputs are set 1 to 1, 2 to 2, 3 to 3, 4 to 4 (this is most likely your problem).
3. Go to Audio/Video Settings under file. Go to “device controll presets”. Click “edit”. Make sure audio mapping is set to 4 channels.

perfect, its funny that you posted, I just figured it out like two seconds before I saw your posting!
Got it, but man doesnt it seem like theres too many menus for outputting audio?
FCP is supposed to be known for its easy usability, the amount of sub menus I have to check just to print to tape is a headache.

i agree 100%. go with Premiere if you want easy. But then again, I wouldn’t want to print to a digibeta deck with Premiere.
