So, I’m rendering a clip out of AE CS3 at 1280×720 resolution using Photo JPEG Quicktime compression. The comp is set at 59.94fps. The output module is set to use that frame rate, too.

But when I import the clip into my AJA Xena HS 1280×720 59.94fps job, it comes in at 29.97fps. And on the timeline, it requires rendering, and plays back in slo-mo.

BUT, if I force the interpolation of the clip in the Premiere bin to 59.94fps (using the “assume this frame rate” setting), the clip plays fine with no need to render a preview.

What gives? If I play that clip in the Quicktime player and show the inspector, the clip IS 59.94fps.

I tried several times with different settings in AE, but whatever I do, the clip always imports into Premiere at 29.97.

Of course, I could just assume the proper frame rate in the Premiere project, but for more than a few clips, that could get tedious.

    Thoughts?
