    hi there,

I have a gradient texture applied to a capsule to simulate blood in a test tube.
I wanted to use a sphere to cut the top of the capsule off, to fake a meniscus effect at the top. However, as you can see my meniscus is sort of starting the gradient over or something, and the top is dark.

    Any ideas? Thanks so much.

Try putting a transparent material on the sphere that you’re using to cut the capsule. The geometry at the intersection of the two objects takes its material from the cutting object.
