Hello, please don’t shout at me guys, I have tried searching and manual readiing but can’t find the answer.

I shot a couple of tests the other day and logged and transferred my P2 media into a couple of new projects.

I closed the project tabs to start a new one, my problem is that I just want to view those projects again but when I go to file> open then navigate to my drive, I can see the projects as content folders and lastclip.txt but it won’t let me open them. I don’t appear to have the FCP project logo which I have on my most recent project.

I’m guessing it’s because I didn’t set up my scratch disk properly, so my question is:

How do I open these projects and where did I go wrong?

    Many thanks

I’ve never heard of an issue like that.
I don’t think is nothing related with the Scratch Disk.
What is strange is that you don’t get the FC Thumbnail.
That sounds like a file Finder Info problem.
Control click the file and have a look what is the default opening application.
Should be FC but if not force the opening with FC.
Are you able to open other projects?

If you still can’t find the project try opening one from your Autosave Vault.

    go to:
System Drive>Users>Documents>Final Cut Pro Documents>Autosave Vault

this is where FCP automatically saves a record of your FCP Project files.

Find the folder with what you originally named your project, open it and if the project was opened long enough you should have an autosaved project file in there as long as you at sometime saved your original project. Open the file with the latest Date Modified do a Save As and save this new version where you can find it. You can change your auto save time settings in User Preferences in the General Tab to your preference.

    hope this helps,
    good luck,

    Victor
