  • Having issues with grouping/syncing tracks on Vegas 11

I edit with Sony Vegas Pro 11.

I don’t know what happened but I use to be able to press S to split a video track and the audio track use to split underneath it as well. Nowadays, I press S on a video track and it just splits the video track and not the audio track underneath it.

They used to be grouped together when I moved them into the timeline, but its not like that anymore. Now everything is movable individually, which results in sync issues for me sometimes.

I’m guessing this was part of their new updates when I downloaded Build 595. I tried grouping them and doing sync lock but it doesn’t really sync/group them together because I can still only move data on one track independently, unless I press CTRL + select the tracks I want to move together. However the second I click on something else, its all unlocked again.

I want it the way it use to be. Anyway this can be done or do I have to accept this?

Only suggestion I have is, Is the “Ignore Event Grouping” checked? I continually click on that icon to turn it off or on depending upon what I’m doing.

What you said worked! AWESOME!! Thanks Blaine! I unchecked it “Ignore Event Grouping” and now when I splt my clips, both the video and audio track are split. Thanks again!
