I need help with my QS G4 800, 1gb ram

After a uppgrade to 10.3.9 my net connection dissapears after a shut down/restart, or if it goes to sleep, without safari or other browser open with a page loaded..

To get my netstatus back i have to: System Prefs -> Network -> Ethernet -> set the speed to 10baseTX ->USE ->then switch back to 100baseTX – > USE, i then get my ipv6 back and my IP 10 secs later..

I am connected thru Ethernet in both ends.

Are any other settings changing or not sticking, like Time & Date? Sounds a lot like a need for replacement of the logic board battery.
