As you know Apple will only upgrade MacBook Pros to 8GB but has anyone maxed out at 16? (which is possible aftermarket) Was it useful? Did you see better performance in AE and other programs? I’ve heard some say that once you reach 8, any more ram will prove useless due to the processor. But I’m curious why Apple would give us the ability to max out at 16 for no good reason. Also if anyone knows of any major setbacks to upgrading to 16 GB on a MBP, please share. Your input is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I have. Using my MB for After Effects and C4D mainly, I have yet to see major performance increase from 8GB. Perhaps it was already fast because of two SSD’s. No issues with processor though. Would I upgrade it now? Not really.
