    Hello,

    I am new to creative cow and have little experience with digital video. I have final cut studio and find myself rendering quite a bit. I have a G5 Quad with 4 gigs of ram and two internal 500 GigaByte harddrives. I have been reading other threads from others about either speeding up the rendering process by using a Raid 0 configuration using a terabyte harddrive, or spending more money using a fibre setup. I am capturing DV NTSC. How can I at least speed up the rendering process? I do know that there will be some rending during editing.

    Raid configurations and Fibre Channel drives are NOT going to give you more realtime functions. FCP RT is a function of your processors, RAM and bus speed.

    It sounds like you have a pretty fast setup. You might want to try adjusting RT settings-on the top left of the timeline.
