  • Hard drive with MediaFiles folder died; how to relink to newly transcoded clips?

I’m editing a feature documentary shot on 7Ds, and I was keeping the Avid MediaFiles folder on one hard drive, and a back-up of all the raw footage on another. Unfortunately, the one with the MediaFiles folder died; I’m transcoding the raw again, I’m wondering how to re-link the media to the newly transcoded files? This is on Version 6 of Media Composer.

I’m not terribly far into the edit, but it would be an enormous pain to redo what was already done. Thanks much in advance for your help.

If you AMA linked and transcoded the first time, and you’re doing the same thing this time, Avid should automatically relink everything for you once the new transcode is done.
