  hard drive issue in Avid

  Maybe this is a G-Tech issue, but I haven’t gotten a response from their
  support yet.

  My problem is this:
  When I’m editing, either playing the timeline, rendering, importing, in general
  just doing something like this, my external G-Raid2 drive (which is where I keep my
  video files) makes a noise like it is going on standby, it lasts for about 10
  seconds, then it comes out of “standby” and continues. Problem is this happens
  repeatedly and when it does, whatever i’m doing in the system, freezes,
  until the G-Raid2 starts going again.

  It happens when it is mounted. I ran a test and a repair in Disk Utility and everything
  was okay. I ran DiskWarrior and it found nothing wrong with the G-Raid2.

  Has anyone encountered this situation?
  Any ideas why this is happening?
  It’s hard to get any work done when the G-Raid2
  keeps freezing up my MacBook Pro every ten seconds.
