I am looking to spend some money on a really good hard drive system. I am going to be editing on DV, HDV and some Betacam through my FCP. Also I am buying a Blackmagic Multibridge for this system. Some if not all of the projects will be thirty and sixty minute programs. I am looking at 1TB for now with the chance for growth. Any help would be great.

You said BetacamSP, uncompressed? If you are doing uncompressed then that ups the stakes. For that I would recommend SCSI or Fiberchanel. I have done some uncompressed with 800Mb Firewire but it isn’t very reliable in my opinion.

If you compress your footage then firewire drives work great. I’ve edited 2 to 1 footage for years on 400Mb firewire drives.

    Hope this helps-
