Handling Varicam in Avid at 24p in PAL
I’ll soon be starting a shoot in Europe which is filming on Varicam at 24P. The rest of the post production will be in the PAL domain. Any hints for avoiding man traps? I know everything has to be captured “on the fly” as one cannot log and capture and that redigitising after consolidation has to be the original clip length. However do the OMFI outputs work for dubbing and tracklay. Anyone out there who has any experience with this, I would appreciate any input. I’ve tried the Varicam Forum … Nil point!
