HAIR with NO dynamics STILL takes forever
Hey guys,
I am rendering a 3700 frame animation with two characters who have hair. I have optimized the hair settings to be on the border of looking unacceptable for the sake of rendering faster. The thing is, when I render the job on the renderfarm and it gets split up on several computers, each computer that has to start rendering several hundred or thousand frames into the timeline, takes forever to process it’s first frame, I would assume, due to HAIR.
For this reason, I turned off Dynamics and gravity in the hair settings and still have the problem. Am I missing something or is there a different way to do this?
I turned the hair into polys but it takes the frame in general a real long time to render.
