I remember when I accidentally figured out how to move final cut tracks vertically without the mouse after 3 years of using the program and noone being able/willing to tell me how. It was quite the exhilarating feeling.

For keyboard jockeys its a pain in the ass having to go to the mouse to perform a slip in avid. The secret is knowing that there’s a difference of “selecting in/out” and “highlighting” in/out by setting i/o points. Go to the tool pallet and map the former to your key of choice, then just hover over your clip hit the key and “u”. Booyah! You’re ready to slip homie.

Now share your keyboard trick that wouldn’t be learned just from looking at the keyboard setting or command pallet!
