I am still getting a grasp of HD workflow and was curious about how to handle the H.264 video that the Canon 5D Mark II creates. I am aware that it is incredibly taxing on computers and I doubt my PC would handle it. So if I want to work with it in Premiere Pro CS4 on my PC, what would be a good approach that would allow me to keep the file size down without sacrificing the quality of my footage?

May I suggest Neo Scene codec from Cineform?

https://www (dot) cineform (dot) com ?

I’ve been playing with it on my older system, and I like it a lot.

Thanks for the speedy response. I checked it out and it looks like it’s just what I need. Much appreciated.
