Sometimes I have h.264 .mov file that I need to bring into Final Cut and edit or add to a program.

If the Sequence settings match the h.264 or the like, the h.264 file does not play back properly in the TV monitor. It plays in the timeline but pauses playback in the TV monitor.

If I drop the h.264 file into a Sequence with DV setting or the like, I have to render the h.264 file. This can take forever.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Furthermore, I am interested in buying a flash file based camera, in which the files are h.264, does this mean I would either have to always render my footage, or not use a TV monitor during playback?

    Thank you!
