GY-HD100U
Posted by David Woodward on October 25, 2005 at 6:29 pmIs it true that FCP 5 does not accept the 720p signal of the JVC GY-HD100U? If that is true, will there be an upgrade that will correct this?
Thanks

October 25, 2005 at 6:53 pm720p30 works great in FCP5 – no problems there. 720p24 on that camera is embedded in a 720p60 MPEG transport stream, but without wasting precious data on those extra frames. FCP5 does not work with this format, but I know of two solutions that I’m currently testing.
http://www.lumiereHD.com has support in their latest beta,
http://www.hdvxdv.com will have support in their next beta. It’s not easy to use the 24p with the free solutions using MPEG Streamclip because it gives you a 60p quicktime file, from which you’d have to remove the extra frames, and currently I know of no way to do that, although if someone needs it, I can probably code it up as part of my Standards Converter.
