I am capturing Apple ProRes HQ from a gy-hd100, footage was shot in HDV 30P and it is still making 60 – 80 clips per hour of tape! I tryied captureing in regular HDV but had the same problem. I was told once I upgrade to new firmware this would go away! Anyone still having this problem or know how to fix it?

Goto your User Preferences – under the General tab. On the right side – “On timecode break:” Set it to Warn After Capture.

    This should solve your issue.

Thanks Wayne but won’t that push the whole thing out of sync?

It shouldn’t… but it could make recapture kinda diffucult.

The problem you are having is that the camera is not setup correctly for timecode. You need to set the camera’s timecode to DF or NDF to get consistent timecode. Sony HDV camcorders have this issue, too. But setting the timecode properly solves this issue.

One thing you can do if you have an HDV deck to use is to copy your tape to a new tape (firewire copy) with proper timecode.

I did everything. Changed the tape stock. Changed the on time code break do nothing setting. Unchecked the box ‘make new clip on start/stop’. It still breaks it up every time I hit record. I do not know what it could be…
