guitar strings effect

I wanna create an animation in which I see the strings of a guitar vibrating. I have created the outline for my guitar using 3D stroke and shine and I’m pretty happy with it. It’s highly stylized, so it doesn’t need to be that realistic. Now, I’m trying to create the strings using the same style but I wanna kick it up a notch and have the strings vibrating as though invisible hands are touching them. I think expressions are the way to go… I’ve tried using the wiggler to create some random “Y” movement but that’s not quite working…
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated!
