  • Guidance please….render settings in CS3 with HDV

Hello. I’m having some difficulties getting the best render settings in Premiere Pro CS3. I have a Canon HX A1 that shoots 1080i. I’m using the Panasonic DVC for HDV/DV video cassette. When I capture inside Premiere Pro, I’m using the “HDV 1080i30” preset. This preset gives me 1440×1080 16:9, 1.333 pixel aspect ratio, and 29.97 fps. Is this the best setting for capture?

Also, what would be the best render setting if I wanted to export for DVD? I’ve tried various settings and can’t quite seem to keep high quality. If I choose to export with Adobe Media Encoder using the MPEG2 1440x1080i High Quality preset, the video is not the same quality as the original. If I try using the QuickTime HDTV 1080p preset, it also doesn’t seem to be the best quality.

What would be the best preset to use to export for DVD? I’ve also tried “Export to Encore” which didn’t turn out all that great either.

    I’m confused…..
