Growing/updated file support in 10.0.3
We edit while ingesting using Building4Media’s Fork ingest software. When FCPX came out I checked to see if it handled growing files the same way FCP7 does, which requires one to switch off and on focus to update the duration. FCPX did not update at all. Whatever time the ingesting files was at import, it stayed even after relaunch. I sent a feature request to Apple about this back in November.
With the new Relink feature I had hoped to relink to the growing file and have FCPX update the duration which it does… great! To my astonishment I noticed the duration updated without having to do a relink! FCPX now updates growing files, or just updated files, automatically after leaving and returning focus!
I’m hoping it was due to my request but suspect it is a side effect of the relink feature.

Now if it could do this with MXF….
