greenscreen shots freeze inconsistently across projects
hello, i’m having a heck of a time with some green screen footage shot in 24p that i’ve brought into aftereffects cs3. the clips will stop playing through after any amount of time. nothing is consistent, i’ve tried various routes of exporting the clips from final cut and there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason.
always exporting using apple pro res 422 hq. used to use animation forever proved to be incompatible with my timeline.
new projects, new compositions, it doesn’t matter, after a bit a bit of work, where the screen will play fine with keylight applight to it. will even render. then ten minutes later the clip is frozen in the composition window despite the fact that it plays fine when you click on it to open in quicktime, and had been playing fine for the previous hour of work.
no other footage does this outside of some general problems i was having when i upgraded from ae7 to cs3.
this is driving me loco, any thoughts?

I’m not sure it’s an aftereffects issue. It might be something else going on. Can you put a short 422 24p clip up on an FTP for me to download and I’ll try it on our machines here? Maybe even take that short clip and try it on your machine and also give me the project file.
