Activity Forums Adobe Premiere Pro gray into black?

    I have some video that one of my freelancers shot of a dance recital. I don’t know what settings he used on his camera, but the blacks look gray-ish instead of just black. Any idea how to correct for this in Premiere Pro 1.5? Thanks!

    That may actually be a good thing. That gives you more artistic choice in post.

    Use the level filter and play with the black input level.

    Thanks! It worked perfectly. I can see how shooting that way allows for more flexibility with the black levels. Any idea what camera settings would cause the footage to be grayish like that?

    Most prosumer / pro cameras have a master pedestal setting. It’s probably it. It could also be a malfunction but I doubt it
