    Hi there,

I am trying to create a lake with mermaids laying around the edges (green screen footage), for the base plane I’m using grass kit to create realistic looking grass but it seems to go right through the mermaids. Is there a way I can prevent it from doing that?

I was looking into making grass with the hair function in the c4d program itself but I didn’t have great results, any tips/good tutorials?…. In case I can solve my problem with that easier.

    Thanks in advance!

    Thom

and it appears to need VRay exclusively so I’m not seeing anything useful (not having VRay)

for what it’s worth with C4D hair as grass you can keep the hair from going through things with the hair collider tag

Thanks Brian. Vray is annoying me. I need to create very realistic grass on large plane. Could you give me any advice on how to make it look realistic or maybe a tutorial link or so? Ive seen many on youtube but so far not the result im looking for.

there’s a lot of different grasses but this GSG tut does cover some interesting stuff using Hair (this is R13 pre-Grass object but the Grass object (tag) is more limited anyway).
