Adobe say that the Nvida Quadro FX1400 is approved for After Effects V7 for PC. Is the Nvida Quadro FX1500 compatible as it appears to be the same card but with 256MB of ram as apposed to 128MB on the FX1400.

Does anyone have any special recomendations for the best spec for a graphics station (HP) to run…

Photoshop, illustrator, freehand, photoshop, flash, dreamweaver, after affects and doh last but not least microsoft office…?

Thanks for your advice/views in advance!

Just built a new graphics workstation, cost a bundle.

Dual Xeon CPU’s 3.73 GHz, 4 Gigs of RAM, NVIDIA Quadra FX 4500 512 on board RAM. Dual 21” Monitors. Needed to upgrade since half our projects our in HD now, and the performance of the old system was killing me.

This thing flies on Friday I rendered out an HD project, shadows, lights as a test. Previously rendering with my farm, took 2.5 hours. On this machine without the render farm, it did the entire project in 26 minutes.

God Bless having a boss that just says “whatever you need, get it.”

The way around buying a hi-end workstation like the HP-whatever or the Dell-690 ($8,500 and up) is to have it build by a local computer company. I ran accross one in St. Louis the other day called…J&B Technologies. Web page at https://www.jbtech.com.

These places are full of geeks, they have all the same parts, processors, cards etc…they just assemble them into a more regular looking box. Hell of a deal.

I’m sure you could build this baby (Dual Xeon CPU’s 3.73 GHz, 4 Gigs of RAM, NVIDIA Quadra FX 4500 512 on board RAM and 2 21 monitors) for half the above.

Nope…I have no relatinship with them at all. They just did some repair for me.
