    Hi –

It happens fairly frequently that, when I got to import a graphic (usually larger than the default size I’m working in) FCP will crash. Doesn’t seem to matter what the graphic format is. Is there an upward size limit that could cause this, or something else at work…?

    Thanks

What is the size and format of your image? The larger the image is, the more problematic it usually is.

    Hi –

It was about 800px high by 600 wide. I did size it down and that solved the problem. It just seems like FCP should have a way of sensing an image that’s too big and alerting you…other than crashing! Maybe there is a SOP on this and I’ve just missed it – that’s very possible.

    Thanks

CMYK images can cause havoc, too.

    Steve –

Thanks for the tip. I’ll check to make sure someone didn’t mistakenly sve it that way. So often you just drag this stuff in assuming it’s correct!
