Graphic Card for MC 5
I’m new to AVID. I have a 1.5GB Nvidia GeForce GT230 graphics card in my PC and want to confirm that this card is OK with AVID software and sufficient to handle 1080i from an AVCHD file. I’m getting weird horizontal distortions across the screen at times…on my footage, it will be there one time, and not the next…so I’m trying to narrow down the problem. Can anyone give me some help.

Avid certifies Quadro cards, not GeForce cards. This is not to say it won’t work, but it’s not a supported configuration. There is some information in the Avid forums (at the Avid site) about this and about running non-certified cards like yours.
