Gradual loss of audio video sync in edited video downloaded from Youtube
Hey Everyone.
My friend Jules and I are doing a bi-weekly series on youtube that we initially shoot on Google Hangouts, save the video, and edit it together with an animated intro in Premiere. We have noticed that the longer the video plays, the more out of sync the sound becomes. This is not the case in the initial downloaded youtube video.

PS: Could it be the difference in frame-rate in the animated intro VS the youtube video.

Well, for sure PPro does not like variable frame rate video. So if the video you are editing with has a variable frame rate, it needs to be converted to a fixed frame rate with a tool such as Handbrake.
I’ve also seen this happen due to a change is sampling rate on the audio in post, but that is less common.

Thank you so much. I will try out Handbrake to see if this helps. In the last video which was shorter, we did not experience this lag to such a noticeable extent, so the longer a video is, the more this issue seems to be exasperated.
