Gradient Mask
can a gradient be added to a mask? I opened someone else’s project and thought I saw an effect or something on the mask but was in a hurry and didn’t have time to look at it. Usually I make a new shape and put a gradient on it and use luma matte on the object below that I’m masking. So the question is can I add a gradient or effect directly to a mask?

you can feather the mask which amounts to the same thing. You can press ‘f’ on the layer with the mask to expose the feather property, or, use the feather tool (press and hold mask pen tool button to show other tools, one of which is feather tool) you can then choose the area of the mask edge to be feathered.
