Gradient Frontal Projection not being seen in reflections
Hi guys,
I have been hunting around the internet for a grounded answer but apologies if this has already been covered/I’m missing common knowledge.
Using a common basic infinite floor/background setup (floor + background with a 2D – Circular gradient and frontal projection, compositing background tag applied ect) I also have a reflective object sat on the floors surface.
The only issue is I notice the reflection of the floor seen in the object (lets say a sphere as an example) sees the floor as a tiled textured with odd grain towards the outer edges.
The only way Ive found around this is to duplicate the floor and have one with seen in reflections unchecked (to just act as the infinite floor), and another other with unseen by camera checked and a either UV or Spherical projection set on its texture – which then the sphere sees as a seamless gradient.
Is this an over-complication and am I missing something? – I should mention this issue is not bound to the floor object (happens with a plane) – but seems to be tied to the reflections not liking a frontal projection.
Any advice much appreciated.
Thanks
