GR-DX95 and AV output connector
Hi all:
Sorry for the kinda-offtopic post, since this is about a JVC consumer camera. I recently got an old GR-DX95E MiniDV camcorder to use as a cheap monitoring/print-to-tape solution, but the problem is that it came without the AV output cable. The camera’s AV output connector isn’t of the standard 3.5mm jack type, but of a special kind: it has a semicircular (sort of “half-moon”) shape, and according to the manual, the cable attached to it would have that half-moon connector on one end, and the standard 3 RCA connectors (for composite video and audio) on the other end.
I would think that this AV connector is a JVC propietary one, but I have also seen it on Sony consumer HDV cameras, like for example here:
https://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/Sony-HDR-HC3-Camcorder-Review/AudioPlaybackConnectivity.htm
(It’s in the second picture, the one labeled “A/V out”). This makes me think that it might be somehow standarized… and yet, I can’t find a cable with it anywhere (of course, I could order a replacement from JVC itself, but its prices are kinda expensive). So: does anyone know the kind of AV connector I’m talking about? How is it called? And where can I find a standard generic cable with it?
Thanks in advance,
Paulo.
