  • GPU upgrade necessary? From ati 5750 to GTX 660?

    Hi,

I was just wondering if a GPU upgrade would bring much benefit…

I am still on FCP7, so no GPU acceleration there… but I am using Compressor 4.

Does Prores encoding in Compressor 4 benefit from CUDA cores? Or is it only H264 in single pass?

What other benefits would you get from an upgrade? Because I might be missing something…

    Cheers!
    Karel.

Nope. Only Motion and Color benefit. And other apps like the Adobe ones.

    A better gaming experience, maybe… 🙂

Actually Color is ATI optimised and doesn’t use CUDA as far as I know.CUDA goodness is with Adobe & Blackmagic software.
